Suspected ecstasy effects scare nightclub customers

A 19-year-old man, and two women aged 18 and 21, who were believed to be suffering the affects of taking the class A drug, were taken to the Hospital after attending an event at the Watersplash in St Ouen’s Bay on Sunday night.

All three have since been discharged.

A spokeswoman for the force said officers were investigating. No one has been arrested.

In a statement the States police said it had been made aware of ‘a potentially lethal drug, believed to be MDMA or ecstasy, circulating in the Island.’

The statement continued: ‘A number of young people have been admitted to hospital this weekend. Please remember, not only are these drugs illegal, they can cause serious illness or even death.’
