According to the half-yearly report to 30 June, average revenue per line also increased by 2%, with pre-paid subscriber growth particularly pleasing. Group chief executive Ian Kelly said: ‘We’ve been working extremely hard behind the scenes to deliver the best-quality fixed, broadband and mobile networks across the three Crown Dependencies, creating the only integrated tri-island network.’

Mr Kelly added that as well as investment in 4G networks, Dense Wavelength Division Muliplexing had also been installed in Channel Islands data centres, of particular benefit to the finance and technology sectors.

Overall, Bahraini parent company Batelco saw a 32% rise in net profit on the previous quarter but a 16% drop in net profit over the first six months year on year, to US$50.4m.
