Earlier this week, the States police revealed that he may have been suffering stress or anxiety following a recent incident.

Today the force said that they are becoming 'increasingly concerned for his welfare' but don't believe there is 'any third-party involvement or suspicious circumstances surrounding Andrew's disappearance'.

In a statement, they said: 'We would urge Andrew to contact us on 612612 or via social media or any other means he has available to him.

'Everyone is very worried about him and wants to see him home safe and sound.'

Mr Gilchrist is 5 ft 4 ins tall, of medium build and has white hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a dark blue Adidas hooded top with light blue sleeves and a green khaki cap when he went missing.
