Swimmers raise a bumper £130,000

About 28,000 laps were swum during the five-day event, which was organised by the Lions Club of Jersey and was held at the Les Quennevais pool. The total was slightly below the figure raised during the last two years, with £138,130 being raised in 2016 and £133,087 in 2015.

According to the Lions Club, £65,070 of the funds raised will be distributed to five youth charities – Brighter Futures, Every Child our Future, Brook Jersey, Brig-y-Don and Jersey Association for Youth and Friendship.

The remainder of the donations will be given to Pathways, Maison des Landes and a number of other charities later in the year.
