Search for missing woman enters third day

A MAJOR search operation for a missing 75-year-old woman entered its third day on Sunday.

Valerie Jehan has not been seen since about lunchtime on Friday when she got off a bus near Devil's Hole.

The Channel Island's Air Search plane, a French coastguard helicopter, the St Helier lifeboat, States police officers and dogs as well as the Fire and Rescue Service have all been involved with the search.

Detectives released CCTV images of Mrs Jehan on a bus travelling towards Devil's Hole at around noon on Friday. She was last seen at 12.07 pm.

On Sunday several agencies focussed their search on the north coast to the east and west of this location.

Mrs Jehan is described as 5 ft 6 ins tall, of proportionate build with light brown/blonde hair. She was last seen wearing dark clothing and carrying a small black handbag.

Anyone who were in the vicinity of the Devils Hole between 12 pm and 6 pm on Friday are asked to contact the police on 612612.
