Singer Jono defies disability to take the stage once more

Despite having to cope with severe cognitive disabilities, Jono Rothwell is practising every day, to the delight of his fellow residents and staff at Jersey Cheshire Home.

He was a member of the Abba tribute band Abbaloo, which used to play at the Merton Hotel during the summer, and also worked in the UK, Europe and Majorca throughout his career.

The gig at the Goose on the Green pub on 28 April, where Mr Rothwell regularly performed, has been organised by his friend Christine Hamilton, who said he was looking forward to the event.
