Paul Alan Sutton, who was visiting Jersey from London, committed the assault on Saturday night and appeared in court on Monday.
Centenier David Webber said that the 36-year-old made numerous threats towards the victim and that CCTV footage showed him pursuing the victim across the dance floor in an aggressive manner before he head-butted him.
Mr Webber said that the victim sustained a bloody nose in the attack but he had no further information relating to his injuries.
