Man arrested in connection with St Helier store theft

The shopkeeper was held up at knife-point. No one was injured.

Armed police were called to the scene at around 7.40 pm on Thursday after the shopkeeper went to a nearby pub and dialled 999. They arrived within minutes but the suspect had fled.

In a short statement, a police spokeswoman said: ‘A 31-year-old man has been arrested this morning on suspicion of armed robbery in relation to the incident at Temple Stores in Stopford Road on Thursday evening. He is currently in police custody.’
