Mr Key will be leaving the Island on 28 February to move to the UK to work as part of a national prayer initiative.

The successful candidate will be selected by the Bailiff, William Bailhache, who is the acting Lieutenant-Governor, and the Bishop of Dover, the Right Rev Trevor Willmott, as Jersey falls under his diocese of Canterbury.

Mr Willmott said that conversations had already started between the involved parties and that the job description was being finalised. If the right candidate is not found by February, an acting Dean will step in temporarily.
