Traces of explosives found on EgyptAir crash victims

Richard Osman, a father of two who worked for mining company Centamin, died along with all others on board Flight 804, which plunged into the Mediterranean while travelling from Paris to Cairo in May.

Following the tragedy, Mr Osman’s brother, Alastair, paid tribute to the ‘kind and loving’ father, whose French wife had given birth to their second daughter just three weeks before the crash.

A criminal investigation has now been launched into the accident, the ministry has confirmed.

The crash came just seven months after a Russian passenger plane was blown up over Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula.

France opened a criminal investigation into the disaster in June.
