Online shopping platform aids children with illness

Nara Maclean and her husband Alan – the Island’s Treasury Minister – launched the Oscar Maclean Foundation in 2014 in memory of their son, who died of a brain tumour.

The foundation has now launched an online shopping platform which it hopes will raise enough money to fund the Island’s first hospice unit for children with a life-threatening condition, in collaboration with Jersey Hospice.

The proposed unit will provide a ‘home from home’ respite facility for children with cancer and chronic illness, from the point of diagnosis through any life-limiting illness and to the end of life.
