But now the head of the Channel Islands Co-operative Society has swapped the world of the boardroom for one of superheroes, secret missions and custard-headed monsters.
Colin Macleod has published his first book – and it is one he has written using characters and ideas concocted with his two sons, Harris (8) and Lewis (5), at bedtime.
The story follows the adventures of Harris and Lewis on their journey to become superheroes and defeat the man-eating custard-headed monster.
Proceeds from sales of the book, Meet Hammerhead and Captain Stinkypants, will be split between the charities Variety Club of Jersey and Help a Guernsey Child.
Meet Hammerhead and Captain Stinkypants is available from all Channel Islands Co-operative Society stores priced at £9.99.
Mr Macleod will be giving a public talk on his publishing journey at The Jersey Library on Friday 2?December at 1.10pm.
