Silence that spoke volumes as Islanders remembered

At 11 am, precisely 98 years since the end of the First World War, Islanders of all ages joined in a two-minute silence that was observed across the British Isles.

The main gathering in Jersey around the Cenotaph in the Parade drew a crowd of more than 300, including war veterans, serving and ex-soldiers, members of the Royal British Legion Jersey branch and Island leaders.

One of them was Reg Stock (pictured) who fought at the Battle of Arnhem.
