Pilot (88) causes taxiway accident

The twin-engined plane, a Piper PA34, was making its way to the runway from the Aero Club when it hit the wing-tip of a parked aircraft.

After the pilot had reached the holding point of the runway, air traffic control informed him of the incident and the flight was abandoned.

The man, who held a commercial pilot’s licence and had 6,000 hours of flying experience at the time, had been following the centre line while taxiing to the runway.
