Dazzling show planned for Christmas switch-on

A parade starting from the Millennium Town Park and ending with a fireworks display at the Royal Square, is expected to attract hundreds of families, who can expect to see Father Christmas as well.

The lights are due to be turned on by pantomime star Paul Lano – who is due to play Dame Tilly Trott in the Green Room Club’s ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ production of in December – at around 6 pm on 24 November.

Two parades – one led by Father Christmas from the Millennium Town Park and a ‘glow parade’, in which participants hold and hand out glow sticks, starting from Howard Davis Park – are due to meet in the Royal Square for a fireworks display and main Christmas lights switch-on.

The event is also due to mark the official opening of this year’s Fête dé Noué celebrations.

Families are being encouraged to take part in the parades and a limited number of festive costumes are due to be offered at the Town Hall on 17 November between 10 am and midday. Families interested in collecting a costume can email Anna Renouf at anna.renouf@posh.gov.je.
