The 52-year-old, of Liberation Court, was stopped by Customs officers when she arrived driving a silver Peugeot car off the Commodore Clipper at the Harbour on 12 October.

When questioned, she admitted having 800 cigarettes and said that she wanted to pay the duty on them.

The Magistrate’s Court was told by Centenier Peter Garrett that Customs officers told her that they would conduct further searches, but she insisted there were no more cigarettes to declare.
