The woman was fined £500 after she pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention and failing to provide the relevant authorities with information about a change of address.
Her advocate said that her client had little available disposable income as she lives on about £2,400 a month in income support and supports two young children.
She added that by the time rent of £1,400 a month is paid, along with other loans and bills, she could afford to pay only £10 a week in fines.
This was accepted by Relief Magistrate Nuno Santos Costa, who allowed her to pay at that rate.
