The Southern Newfoundland Club brought20 Newfoundland dogs from the UK to join six animals from Jersey Big Dog Club.
The breed, which has webbed feet and swims very well, is trained to save people from drowning and help fisherman to carry out their work.
On Saturday and Sunday the two clubs carried out training exercises with the dogs at the Simon sandpit in St Peter.
