The 27-year-old of Route de Noirmont, St Brelade, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving at about 11 pm on 9 July.

The Magistrate’s Court heard that the defendant had driven the wrong way up Gloucester Street from the Esplanade and then turned his white VW car right to park outside the Adelphi pub in the Parade.

Advocate Darry Robinson said that the accused then somehow managed to drive past the traffic Island behind him and his car ended up facing in the right direction on the pavement opposite Accident and Emergency.
