Care workers are called to emergency cuts meeting

It was announced by the charity that States funding for their home care service, which costs around £1.9 million a year to run, was going to be pulled.

Staff are due to be offered revised contracts, which are likely to include a reduction in pay and benefits and a revised pension.

Around 200 customers, which include the elderly and vulnerable, also face big increases in the cost of home care.

All 118 staff affected are being called to attend a meeting next Friday, during which they will discuss possible industrial action with union representatives from Unite.
