Young people sing the praises of charity’s outreach programme

Up to 45 trainees worked on the recent Jersey Sings! project following the January launch, working alongside experts and attending workshops and placements to develop skills useful in the workplace, with the aim of helping them to gain employment.

In addition, they were able to support the Liberation International Music Festival and events organised by the Jersey Arts Centre and Fort Regent, as well as improve digital skills by working on the Barclays Digital Driving Licence.

Music in Action worked with the States Social Security Department’s Back to Work team and recruited three team members through the States Community Jobs Fund, who were able to carry out vital administration such as producing the schools’ information packs, co-ordinating logistics and photography.
