In April the Bosdet Foundation, which runs Les Ormes in St Brelade, launched volunteer.je, a website which enables users to search, register and apply for volunteering opportunities with charities, youth or sports groups or other non-profit organisations.
Fifteen organisations registered initially, and that figure has now grown to 54. In addition, 70 people with free time they want to spend volunteering have registered their details – and to date, eight successful matches have been made between organisations and individuals.
Alan Le Pavoux, the Bosdet Foundation’s charity manager, said that the website was proving successful but it was hoped that more Islanders and organisations would sign up as time goes on.
