Will Jersey branches be spared the Lloyds axe?

The latest news comes as the group continues a project to cull 9,000 positions and close 200 branches, however, Lloyds cannot currently publish details of which branches will close and when.

The business has units in St Helier on Broad Street, in St Saviour on Bagatelle Road and in St Brelade on Route des Quennevais and closures could affect more than 400 staff.

Within the last three years, 38 Islanders have lost jobs, with the majority being offered voluntary redundancy packages and Lloyds has attributed the most recent cuts to changes in people’s banking habits and the effects of interest rates remaining low following the Brexit vote.
