Repeat offender Mark Edward Gary Francis Richomme was walking home at 2 am on Christmas Eve last year, having drunk six pints of beer, when he noticed two men sitting by the window of a property in Val Plaisant, the Royal Court heard.

The 29-year-old started speaking to the men, who encouraged him to climb the wall into a flat occupied by one of the men.

Richomme, who pleaded guilty to affray, drunkenly fell and became aggressive, shouting, ‘Come on then’ and the court heard how the defendant then left the area at around 2.30 am and arrived at a friend’s home drunk, emotional and upset, before returning to the Val Plaisant flat holding a kitchen knife.
