There are 1,507 firearms certificates in the Island, which has a population of around 100,000, according to a freedom of information request.
In comparison, there were 153,404 firearms certificates in England and Wales at the end of last month.
This means that there are 0.26 gun licences per 100,000 people in England and Wales, while Jersey has a rate of 1.5, however, the Jersey figure is likely to have been boosted by licences for air guns, which do not require a licence in England and Wales.
