Memorial plan for fundraiser Mark Le Riche

Donations are being sought to pay for a stone at the south end of the quay to be inscribed in memory of Mr Le Riche, a community stalwart in St Aubin who dedicated years of his life to raising money for charity.

Mr Le Riche, who was fondly known as Mark the Fish, passed away in April – just a week after he was awarded the St Brelade Citizen of the Year Award in recognition of his charity work.

John Bailey, a member of the St Aubin’s Boat Association, of which Mr Le Riche was also a member, came up with the idea for the stone and has been given permission by Ports of Jersey and Jersey Heritage to have an inscription etched into the granite wall at the harbour and added that although he was still waiting for a quote for the inscription, people could leave donations at St Aubin’s Parish Hall.
