Islander Don Dolbel said he was thrilled to fulfil a lifelong ambition on Wednesday when he spent the evening flying above the Island in tandem with a professional pilot, fully exposed to the elements in a two-seater microlight.
Mr Dolbel, who grew up in St Ouen and now lives in St Helier, said he cannot wait to get his pulse racing again on 2 August when he celebrates turning 91 by doing a skydive.
At the tender age of 90 he still rides a motorbike – a 600 cc Honda – and said he has always been a daring soul.
