Sir steps down after four decades

James Speight, head teacher of Rouge Bouillon School, is stepping down at the end of the summer term after working in six schools across the Island.

The father-of-four – Matthew (33), Marc (31) and twins Adam and Joel (28) – says that after 39 years in the profession, he will miss working with children.

‘Children keep you well-grounded,’ Mr Speight, who is married to fellow teacher Kate, said. ‘They are really the reason why you teach. Children can do some amazing, different and funny things at times.’
