Environment Minister Steve Luce is due to ask the House this week to approve a raft of new measures, which include changes to inshore trawling and catch and minimum size limits.

Currently there is no limit in Jersey on the number of fish, including bass, that can be taken by recreational fishermen. If adopted, the regulations will limit them to one bass per day from 1 July to 31 December and they will have to return all catches between 1 January to 30 June.
