Local employers face computer science skills shortage

Corefocus, which has offices in Anley Street, wants to expand the workforce by recruiting three new staff members.

However, the Microsoft business solutions specialist says that there are currently insufficient numbers of Island students developing IT skills and is offering two of the three vacancies to trainees.

Managing director Matt van Sanden said: ‘Our junior and internship positions will provide technical training and development to further digital skills and show that computer sciences is a great path to follow.’
