Victims’ bid to have abuser’s sentence increased

Nicholas Price Marvin was sentenced last week to five years and four months in prison after being found guilty of sexually assaulting one of the women from the age of three and the other when she was a teenager.

Now the pair have started an online petition calling for the sentence to be increased to seven years – the original sentence requested by the prosecution.

They say that the current sentence ‘sends the wrong message to past and present sex offenders’ and that showing leniency may ‘destroy the confidence of those who might be thinking of coming forward in the future’ and more than 400 people have signed the petition so far.
