£13k flights duo ‘broke States rules’

Public Accounts Committee chairman Andrew Lewis says that during his investigation no written authorisation has been found for Economic Development chief executive Mike King and Locate Jersey’s Wayne Gallichan to book the flights to a South African mining conference in February.

Mr King and Mr Gallichan had said that the bookings – which were revealed by the JEP – had been made in accordance with States policy.

But Deputy Lewis has now alleged that the States’ rules on spending were in fact breached when the flights were booked.
