As politicians prepare to consider new taxes for healthcare and sewage collection as part of spending plans due to be lodged with the States on 30 June, ministers say that Jersey’s oldest residents who are living on low incomes need extra help.
It has emerged that plans to reintroduce a targeted Christmas bonus for pensioners are due to be included in the Medium Term Financial Plan and, if approved, could be in place by this December.
