Ten-month old Bruce became stuck in the wire trap near his home in St Peter’s Valley and his owners found him covered in blood the next morning and thought he had been hit by a car.
But after taking the cat to the All Pets Veterinary Centre in the parish, vets confirmed he had in fact been the victim of an illegal metal snare which was cutting into his neck.
Bruce needed emergency surgery to treat his injuries but has now returned home to his family.
