Occupation Society member trapped in a bunker

Fire and Rescue Service crews had to prise the metal door of the Battery Moltke bunker at Les Landes open after the leader responsible for the fortification fell onto concrete stairs while trying to close a metal security door.

The casualty, who has not been named, was taken to the Hospital in an ambulance after emergency services attended the scene in St Ouen at around 4.49 pm following a call from a member of the public who feared a person may have been ‘pinned down’ by the door.

When firefighters and paramedics arrived it was found that the casualty was not pinned by the door, but had been trapped by it and was lying on the stairs inside and hydraulic equipment was then used to pull open the security door, which has been added since the Occupation to stop members of the public accessing the bunker when it is closed.
