During 2015 just over £100,000 worth of new psychoactive substances was seized by Customs – the majority of which had come through the post.
In the 12 months before nearly £190,000 worth of the drugs were seized.
On several occasions over recent years Customs have warned that NPS, which can be bought online for as a little as £2 a hit from websites that will deliver the drugs direct to a user’s front door, were becoming part of an ’emerging and potentially dangerous trend’, but now it is believed that many of the online firms are cutting off their Channel Islands supply line because Customs are intercepting the drugs – leading to a drop in repeat orders.
