Superman leads hundreds of charity fun-runners on their way to Durrell

More than 340 runners – some dressed as Superman and Batman – took part in the 13 km course from the People’s Park to Durrell.

Mr Cavill, who is an ambassador for the wildlife conservation trust, was on a mission to help raise money at the charity’s annual family fun day.

As an ambassador, the Man from Uncle actor hopes to use his fame to raise the charity’s profile worldwide at a time when the childhood of founder Gerald Durrell is receiving nationwide coverage in ITV’s drama, The Durrells.
