Probe into businessman’s complaints against police

Former tow-truck operator Roy Boschat lodged complaints against the force after he was caught up in an alleged corruption scandal in 2006.

The States police stopped using his company, which picked up vehicles after road traffic accidents, following allegations that he had bribed officers to ensure that he received regular work.

Mr Boschat was arrested and his house was searched in September 2006, but charges were later dropped and he was never convicted of any offence and in that same month, the then deputy police chief, Lenny Harper, contacted the Island’s parish Constables – who also required vehicle tow services – to warn them of the allegations against the businessman.
