St Mary resident among Britain’s top 20 inventors

Catherine Curtis (51), who lives in St Mary, was chosen as one of 20 finalists for this year’s British Inventors’ Project after creating the Babyhub Sleepspace – a cot that can be adapted for use as a play tepee.

She is due to appear at the NEC in Birmingham until Sunday to showcase her product at the Gadget Show Live.

Her invention, which is due to be sold through Mothercare’s website and in stores later this year, is a lightweight pyramid travel cot that can fold down for use on the go and as the child grows it can become a play tepee and it has a washable cotton canvas cover designed to be drawn on with fabric pens, as well as a mosquito net.
