Service at Durrell in memory of bike rider

Wayne Bisson, a senior software engineer for Netflix, was killed when he came off his bike while riding along a Californian highway on 4 March and a motorist has been charged with reckless driving in connection with his death.

The former Le Rocquier School pupil, who overcame testicular cancer as a teenager, leaves behind wife Darlene, along with parents Jackie (60) and Steve (60) and brother Darren.

His funeral, which was attended by representatives from technology giants Microsoft, Netflix and Google, was held in California six days after his death, but his family have now organised a service to celebrate his life to be held on 29 April at 2.30 pm at Durrell – the venue has been chosen because of Wayne’s love of monkeys.

The dress code for the service is smart casual, and the family request that in lieu of flowers those who wish can send a donation in Wayne’s memory to Cancer Research UK Jersey.

Donations can be sent to Cancer Research UK Jersey, Woodlands Court, Route des Côtils, Grouville, JE3 9AP.
