The Deputy Bailiff, Tim Le Cocq, said that the thoughts of the Assembly were with Mr Filleul’s wife and paid tribute to his achievement in helping to create the Queen’s Valley Reservoir.

He also said that the Island was very fortunate to have been served by Mr Hamon, who he described as ‘a man of great humour and courtesy’.

A minute’s silence was held in respect of both men at the start of the States sitting.
