Tributes paid to former Deputy Bailiff Francis Hamon

Mr Hamon worked at Channel TV when it launched in 1962 and became the Deputy Bailiff in 1995, serving for five years in the position.

He worked for 20 years as a judge in Jersey’s Royal Court and received an OBE in the 2000 New Year’s Honours list and was also appointed to the board of the Jersey Financial Services Commission that year.

Mr Hamon was born in Jersey and was educated at Victoria College. He was the first chairman of the Jersey Arts Trust and a founder member of the Good Theatre Company.
