Jim Diamond, a costs lawyer who has repeatedly spoken out against spiralling industry fees, has produced an information pack designed to help people control expenditure when seeking legal representation.
He wants to arm people in Jersey and the UK with information and template forms for prospective legal representatives to fill in before terms are agreed.
Mr Diamond says that by using his free guide, which is due to be published this Friday, people could save 15 per cent of their legal fees and estimates that about 20 per cent of people would choose not to engage a lawyer once they know what costs they may be liable to pay.
