Terri the turtle has made significant progress since being transferred to the Canary Islands, and will be released on 18 March after being fitted with a tracker – almost ten weeks after arriving on Jersey shores.
In the weeks following the rescue, Islanders raised £10,000 to help to pay for care and transport to Gran Canaria.
In Guernsey a turtle of the same species washed up earlier this week, which has been named Olivia and is continuing to receive round-the-clock care, and the GSPCA is now accepting donations towards Olivia’s care.
