Terri the washed-up turtle nearly ready for the open sea

Terri the turtle has made significant progress since being transferred to the Canary Islands, and will be released on 18 March after being fitted with a tracker – almost ten weeks after arriving on Jersey shores.

In the weeks following the rescue, Islanders raised £10,000 to help to pay for care and transport to Gran Canaria.

In Guernsey a turtle of the same species washed up earlier this week, which has been named Olivia and is continuing to receive round-the-clock care, and the GSPCA is now accepting donations towards Olivia’s care.
