According to a commission spokesman, one recent sustained attack consisted of hits every 15 seconds over a period of 36 hours.
The chairman of the Island’s financial services regulator, Lord Eatwell, said that the organisation was currently holding meetings with Island firms to discuss how the threats could be dealt with.
Describing such attacks as the ‘dark side’ of financial technology – or fintech, as it is known – Lord Eatwell said that the dangers were not just a matter for the regulator.
