Fishermen protest over Harbour plans

Under the proposals, 18 flats, a restaurant, a new headquarters for the Sea Cadets and community facilities would be built on land at the harbourside near La Collette.

A petition launched by Fresh Fish Company co-owner Vicky Boarder has now been signed by 3,500 people.

Those behind the development, called Port Galots, have said that the scheme would enhance the area and would provide replacement parking for the

customers. But thousands are still opposed to the move, which has seen more formal comments sent to the Planning Department than any other scheme in the Island’s history.
