The 30 finalists picked a sealed envelope out of a drum and were then called forward one at a time by compère Chris Tanguy to key their combination into the safe. And it was Mr Maraszek who keyed in the winning number, to be met with the appropriate fanfare and flashing lights.
‘I was surprised and delighted – I have never won anything like this before,’ he admitted shortly after using the set of keys from the safe to open his prize and sit at the wheel.
