British police to investigate Thai double murder

Protestors took to Downing Street this week to urge the UK government to order its own investigation into the double murder.

It is being reported that Thailand’s military ruler dropped objections to accepting help in the case after being pressed on the issue by UK Prime Minister David Cameron.

It follows the news yesterday that nearly 100,000 people have signed a petition urging the UK government to order its own investigation into the double murder.

Two Burmese migrant workers, Zaw Lin and Win Zaw Htun, have confessed to the killings but there are growing fears that the pair may have been set up.

Full report in Monday’s JEP.
