Members no longer allowed to openly disagree
After more than 20 hours of debate on the proposals from Chief Minister Ian Gorst to overhaul the machinery of government, States Members yesterday approved the changes in their final form by 28 votes to 12.
The decision gives the go-ahead to the biggest overhaul of the system since ministerial government was introduced in 2005.
