The company, which was part of the Radio Corporation of America brand, first set up production in Commercial Street in 1967, before moving to a new building – which is now occupied by retailer Sandpiper – at Rue des Prés in 1972.

Jim de la Haye, who worked as a production line supervisor at the company until its closure in 1984, organised the event with help from others, including Bryan Swain.
